Have you ever seen the pros do a reverse handed lay-up in basketball and you wish you can do it? Now you can. For the people who don’t know what a reverse handed lay-up is. It is design to make your defender believe you’re doing a regular lay-up, but you slip around the hoop to take a shot on the other side you want to do this if you can do a regular lay-up. Follow these steps and you might be able to be good as the pros.
The first step in reaching your goal to do the reverse handed lay-up is you should get a basketball and a hoop. It is also best if you get the proper clothes, t-shirt and shorts. In addition you can use a defender to help you understand how the reverse handed lay-up works. They can help by guarding you and trying to take the ball away.
The second step is as you start to dribble the ball, you should start to drive towards the hoop as if you were doing a regular right handed lay-up. It is best to drive at an angle, because it gives you a better view of the basketball hoop and your defenders.
The third step is kind of like doing a right handed lay-up which is two steps before making the basket, but you would take one extra dribble. You would then cut underneath the hoop to get away from your defenders.
The forth step is you pick up the ball and take two more steps underneath the hoop. At this time, you are jumping off your right foot. Then you are doing a hook shot (which is also known as the J and the sweeping hook.) The hook shot is done with one-handed. You throw the ball above your head with the left hand at the hoop; it’s like a hooking motion.
The final step is you are trying to aim the ball for the upper left corner of the box on the backboard. The purpose of using a backboard is to help you hit more spots on the backboard. Hopefully you make it.
Now that you know the reverse handed lay-up, you can go and practice these steps. When you feel you know the steps, you can go and show of your new move just to all of your friends. Soon you will be shooting like a Pro.
